Consultant (noun)….

A self proclaimed expert that charges huge fees, in return for vague and predominantly incorrect business advice.

I work in a narrow field of expertise. I won’t lie and tell you I can revolutionise your whole Company. I can’t.

Can I provide you with a new portfolio of Social Media platforms with an empty guarantee that means nothing? Sorry, no.

Can I triple the turnover in your Gift Department? No, I can’t do that either.

SO WHAT CAN I DO?

The core of any Garden Centre or nursery….is plants. Good or bad, they’re the benchmark by which customers often judge you.

That’s where I can help.

DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY TO YOUR BUSINESS?

  • You’re happy with the annual growth of your plant departments

  • The department is maintaining healthy profits

  • Quality of stock is exceptional whether you buy it in or grow it yourself

  • Wastage of stock is minimal

  • Your customers love the service, knowledge and expertise provided by your plant team

  • An experienced team with great skills and all the tools available to maintain stock quality from delivery to going through your tills.

  • A lean team which is stretched when it needs to be, without the added expense of being overstaffed.

  • Stock turnover is fast, your benches are regularly full of stock which sell quickly and don’t stagnate or deteriorate. You don’t have to worry about empty benches which could be selling you stock, or full benches of stock which never seem to sell.

  • A Social Media platform to communicate to your customers, all about your plants and your business

THANKS FOR READING; BUT YOU REALLY DON’T NEED ANY HELP.

Sounds like you’re on the ball and your customers will love you

OR IS THERE ANY ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT?

  • Buying too much? A little topheavy on stock which you can’t maintain?

  • Not buying enough and leaving benches empty for days at a time?

  • Quality control problems when stock arrives to you?

  • Overwatered…..underwatered……unhappy plants?

  • Overstaffed, understaffed or generally lacking motivation?

  • Diminishing turnover or profitability?

  • Tables of stock which never seem to sell?

  • A burgeoning sale bed which you can’t get on top of?

  • Stock on the benches which you really wouldn’t buy yourself?

  • Negative feedback from customers?

  • No platform to share your passion about your plants and your business, once the customer has left your premises.

  • Internal resistance to change? ‘We’ve always done it like that’….

Are you where you want to be?
