I’ve always been big on quality. You’ll know that by now. So I’ve always been very exacting on the quality of stock we produce.

We’ve grown thousands of plants here at The Plant Man over the years. They haven’t all been perfect. So we tweak our growing programme every single year, to improve.

If you don’t have the space to grow, then skip this page; it’s not for you.

But if you have the space, and the passion to try, you’ll never regret it.

As quality from bought-in suppliers isn’t the guarantee it once was, growing it yourself gives you that control, if you have the skill set.

If you’re looking to raise margins throughout, there are few better ways than growing it yourself.

But be picky. Not everything will work (I promise). Give yourself the best chance of success and choose the right things for you:

A tree which may not be saleable for 3 years?

A shrub which will be saleable in 2 years?

A perennial ready in 6 weeks?

Or a bedding plant finished in 2 weeks?

You might get £200 for the tree, only £2.00 for the bedding plant. Who’s right?

The answers aren’t always easy, and if you’ve never done it before, somebody who knows the pitfalls can save you a lot of time and money.
